One of the things I'm trying to do now is build up simulated instrument and cross-country time in preparation for instrument training. Since I can't see out the windows when I'm doing simulated instrument flying, I need to have a safety pilot with me. Kris Amato is an instructor rated pilot who used to work for Corvallis Aero Service. He has gone with me as my safety pilot for a couple of flights this year. One of them was over the Cascade Mountains to Sunriver.
